This technology stuff is going to take a bit of getting used to! Well, in case you didn't catch the name at the top of this web page, it's Ranulf. I'm a laguz; man and cat combined. To at least one beorc I know on the world of Earth, a world of so many things and cultures, I've been amazing to her at least one time.

I've been called that occasionally by fellow laguz in my home country, but by a beorc? In Tellius, the common everyday beorc fears or despises me, calling me "freak" or "sub-human". There's nothing I alone can do about it; that's just the way it is. You can't really have over control over anyone but yourself. It's something I learned the hard way a long time ago when I was a young'n in my world.

I'm funny, kind, and sweet. I'm serious when I have to be, so I'm not so goofy all the time! Laughter is the best medicine in most cases, but not everything about life can be made fun of. War, bloodshed, that stuff's not funny, unless you're some kind of sicko!

I consider myself easy to get along with. If you can see past the ears, eyes, tail, and the fact that I can turn into a big blue cat, then you're a potential friend! Well, it's a start anyway.

Heh, I shouldn't put down TOO much here. The rest is already going into formal portion of my bio. Ooo, doesn't that sound neat?! :) My beorc/writer friend Marianne wants to do that. She's the one who's been helping me set this journal up. Fine by me! I don't have a problem with that at all, even though this is supposed to be my own internet journal. I never had one before, and it's a new thing I'd like to try out.

Befriend me if you'd like to, beorcs and laguz...and other me's and friends from parallel Tellius'! (Strange yet interesting to think about, that!) First, I have to see if you'll be nice or mean. I don't have much to say to mean people though.

Ranulf is a Cat tribe Laguz, one of Ike's good friends and one of King Caineghis' most trusted vassals.

When Gallia sends an army to aid the Crimean liberation effort, Ranulf is sent as its commander and later joins Ike's party. He also has Nasir spy on you through the game, not knowing that Nasir also was working as a double agent for Daein. He is the superior officer of Lethe and Mordecai.

When Ranulf first met Ike and his group of mercenaries when they were on their way to Gallia, he didn't expect Ike to have manners. From that point on, he took a liking to the beorc. He gladly accepted the task given to him by Lion King Caineghis to assist in getting the Greil Mercenaries to the Nasir, who's another laguz.

A commoner beorc in the port town closest to the water in order for the Greil mercenaries to set sail for the kingdom of Begnion (they were escorting a princess who lost her own guards to the enemies of Dein) bumped into Ranulf. This caused the hood of his disguise cloak to fall back, and the townspeople started scoffing and pushing him around.

Ranulf didn't do a thing to stop them, but Ike sure did. At that moment, Ranulf was surprised yet again by this man. Why did he care so much that he got beat up? Why would a beorc be defending for a laguz like him? The prejudice was something that Ranulf had adapted to, and this kindness felt out of place then.

When the Daein forces arrived, Ranulf transformed into his cat form and decided to play a game of cat and mouse with some of the soldiers, giving Ike and company less enemies to worry about. That's the last time Ike and the rest of the Greil Mercenaries see of him, until he arrives in The Chaos Brought Forth fanfiction.

Ranulf can only fight by changing into his animal form--in which looks like a blue and white over-sized cat with two different colored eyes - one violet, and the other aqua green. Ranulf and the other laguz of all types don't use man made weapons--for it's made for beorc. Laguz are born with their animal forms, in which have natural weapons. For Ranulf, that would be his claws. He may also be a cat when hunting, and he would intend to use his teeth AND claws.

The eyes, ears, and tail remain when he turns to his human form--but he's more vulnerable in a battle this way. He can change to cat and back when he chooses to, but one could only maintain the energy to remain in cat form for so long. When he's too tired or hurt, he turns back and withdrawals from fighting.

The following is our little conversation AFTER she put down the formal portion.

Me: How very accurate! You apparently know me too well.

Marianne: *smiles and eye rolls* Well, it's not all that complicated when it comes to you.

Me: Is that so...? Well, I can be complicated if I want to be!

Marianne: *laughs* I'm sure you can be, at times. I've yet to develop my writing of you.

Me: Anyway, you did a really nice job of putting all that together.

Marianne: Thanks. *grins* Okay, now it's time to put your icons up and sign you up to my community and that other one I mentioned to you about.

Me: Is it really true that Ike has one of these journals?

Marianne: Yup. Although he couldn't think of anything to put for himself in his bio. Not yet anyway. He trusted me to do everything for him.

Me: *chuckle* He'll warm up to this stuff in no time.

Marianne: *laughing with him* Maybe! It's more likely that his sister would. Somehow, I can't see Ike being a journal person all that much. *big grin* Mist IS getting one eventually. Lethe and Mordecai too!

Me: That's great! *finds this highly amusing* I'll get to pick on Lethe a little that way.

Marianne: *giggles* Yup.
